Recombinant VCAM1, transcript variant a, human.
The protein contains a N-terminal his tag and is produced in HEK293E cells and purified to homogeneity.
VCAM1 is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed on cytokine-activated endothelium. It is a type I transmembrane protein and is a member of the IgG superfamily. It mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction. It may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid artritis.
